ECHO (Employees Contributing to Help Others)
Over the past 15 years, employees of Med Center Health have given more than $1.4 million through our corporate employee giving program which supports the initiatives of Med Center Health Foundation. This is a powerful statement to our community and the mission of our corporation.
How does Employee Giving Work?
The program allows employees to give a donation to Med Center Health Foundation through a payroll deduction. Employees pledge a specific, self-determined amount which is then deducted from each paycheck and sent to the Foundation on a regular basis. All donations made through the employee giving program are tax deductible.
Why should an employee give to the Foundation through ECHO?
All levels of donations are invaluable and will enable Med Center Health Foundation to realize its vision to improve the quality of life in the communities it serves. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and these donations are tax deductible as allowed by the IRS. Through payroll deduction, the employee program allows employees a simple way to make a regular contribution to the Foundation.
100% of all funds raised at the event benefit Commonwealth Health Free Clinic and The Dental Clinic.
Why is everyone’s donation important?
“One person can make a difference and every person should try.” – John Kennedy
No matter how much or at what level, all donations are very important. If, at the least, every employee participated in the ECHO program and gave $1 per pay period this would equal an additional $56,000 per year to the program. $1 per pay period is only a total of $26 per year. $26 per year provides shelter for those who have loved ones at The Medical Center. $26 per year provides first line blood pressure medication for three patients at the Free Clinic for the entire year.
